Prof. Patrick Sebbah

Patrick Sebbah is an Associate Professor of the Jack and Pearl Resnick Institute for Advanced Technology, Departmnt of Physics, Bar Ilan University, Ramat Gan, Israel, and a Director of Research of the CNRS (Centre Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique) since 1994, at the Langevin Institute. ESPCI, CNRS UMR 7587, Paris, France.
He received an education in General Physics and Laser Physics. He graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications de Paris (1988) and from the University Paris XI – Orsay (1989). He received his Ph.D degree in Physics from the University of Nice – Sophia Antipolis, France, in 1993 for his dissertation on Wave Propagation and Localization. He did his postdoctoral work at the Physics Department of Queens College, CUNY, NY, USA, in the group of Prof. A. Z. Genack, where he also spent a two year sabbatical.
His research interests are Light/Acoustics Wave/Microwave Propagation in Complex Media, Multiple Scattering and Localization, Random Lasing, Nonlinear Scattering and elastic metamaterials.
